THANK YOU MOM
Drawing aimlessly since childhood, my TV show recordings were lost to old VHS tapes, but my mother saved all my original art. Years after creating Tony and exhibiting at Four Seasons, I searched for my roots and discovered my true first Doodle among her archive—dated 1996.

The journey is actually much longer than it seems. Ever since I was a kid, I’ve been drawing aimlessly. In fact, I used to draw on a children’s TV show where my mother worked. I only wish I could retrieve those videos today... They were recorded on old-school VHS tapes, but because new programs were taped over them, all those recordings were lost forever.
The heartwarming news, however, was that my mother had saved every single one of my original drawings.
When I resigned from the advertising agency, I started drawing Tony. Later, I showed the finished artwork to an art collector, and things quickly escalated from there—leading to my work being displayed at the Four Seasons.
But then I challenged myself with a deeper set of questions: Why was I drawing like this in the first place? Had I seen this style somewhere before? Was I unconsciously influenced by something from my past?
While searching for the answers to these questions, I went through the collection of drawings my mother had preserved all those years. And right there, among those papers, I found it.
Yes, my very first Doodle... Dated 1996.
