DOODLE M*CKEY
Teased as the "rich kid" at my agency, I created a Capitalism Series featuring Popeye, Richman, and a giant Mickey Mouse. Placed in Kadıköy during the pandemic when money felt meaningless, Mickey stood arms open as cash flew toward him—a sharp critique on who truly profited from chaos.

Around that time, I was working on developing a new series. Back at the agency, my colleagues used to tease me, calling me the "rich kid." So, I decided to own it and channel that energy into a critique: I created the Capitalism Series, featuring Mickey Mouse, Popeye, and Richman—a character entirely of my own creation.
I started by pasting a 35x50 cm Popeye drawing on a wall along Bağdat Avenue. But then I decided to scale things up. I glued a massive Mickey Mouse poster right in Kadıköy and said, "Fuck it, Mickey."
It was during the peak of the pandemic—a time when people walked the streets in fear and money seemed completely meaningless. In the middle of all that chaos, Mickey stood there with his arms wide open, money flying straight toward him. Because during those days, money was still flying into certain people's pockets anyway... like the ones manufacturing masks!
