After the Capitalism Series, Mario became a character I was genuinely obsessed with. Looking back, he stole so much of my time when I was a child playing video games—so in a way, I felt like he owed me something. On top of that, Mario is literally a character who spends his entire life endlessly chasing after coins and money, which fit into the commentary of my artistic universe seamlessly. That’s why I made him the direct continuation of the series, featuring his iconic image across numerous paintings and physical artworks.
