DOODLE STREET WORK

Selling art wasn't enough; frustrated by the traditional gallery system, I took to the streets of Bağdat Avenue. I rented construction billboards to anonymously display my art, eventually leaving my first major public piece at Kadıköy waterfront during the pandemic.

Yes, I was finally selling my art, but something was still missing. I knew I had to take it to the streets.

This new chapter began on Bağdat Avenue. To be honest, I was frustrated that galleries weren't offering me exhibition space while my works were already finding collectors. So, I took matters into my own hands: I rented those wooden and metal billboards placed in front of buildings under construction/demolition and started pasting my drawings there, operating completely anonymously. I turned the street itself into my personal gallery.

During the pandemic, I left my first major public installation right at the Kadıköy waterfront—letting the city and its people interact with my art freely.

If the galleries won't open their doors, the streets become the gallery. Anonymous street installation on Bağdat Avenue.
